I am afraid there is no way to change the status, you can only activate the dnd mode unless it disappeared in the latest update of yesterday but I don't think... At least, I'm hoping not. Downgrade? Really complicated, you probably can do it via iTunes if you saved an older version... Another think that I personally don't like of this new version is that you cannot see only connected contacts.
