Hi Didier, from a quick look at the debian sources[1], it seems like the compilation from the source package on Slackware could require:
- some patching, as the debian source applies 12+ patches on the original sources (they might not be all really needed, given that a portion of them might only be there for compliancy with the Debian packaging policy) - some manual steps during the build (you can see them in the "debian/rules" Makefile) I'll be working on my own packages in the next few days, but if I can find some free time I might try producing a SlackBuild script for it.
