For what it's worth, I recently built qgis successfully, but I'm on -current with ktown installed, so I have different versions of all the Qt5 related deps.

I've no idea. I suppose that depends on when package maintainers released
patches.

Oy! I think I'll give up on qgis and stick with grass (which I've used since
the mid-1990s) and R.
