I don't want SL to be a general media player, but I would like to have  
what I'm listening to in SL scrobbled without messing with an external  
program.

Alternatively, being able to map programs outside SL onto some  
equivalent of media textures IN SL would be nice. Trivial in X11 (make  
SL your window manager :) ) but probably harder in Windows or OS X.
