Apple is rumored to be hiring engineers/programmers to incorporate such capabilities into the next-gen Mac OS X/iPhone systems and I would expect that Microsoft is also. Given this, the ability to interface with built-in resources should be a high priority for this and any other new SL i/o protocol.
