Yes, one is the user agent spoofing issue, where someone could claim
to be UA with more capabilities than the actual UA has.

The other is future-proofing.

If lack of JavaScript is a concern, there are methods for displaying
alternative content that don't require JavaScript.

Fortunately, WebKit has been implementing some of the HTML5 draft
specification, which makes embedding and displaying alternative
content much easier.
