It looks to me like the whole "First Last paid you L$n [for x]." string comes pre-formatted from the sim (or dataserver -> sim -> viewer, according to the message template,) in the Description field of the MoneyBalanceReply message. So there's nothing the viewer can do about the "for x" part if it's not already there.
