Many are confused on what version to use. 2.x and by extension logback 1.3 are incredibly stable. However, a huge use case simply will never use the beta/alpha releases (ie spring boot) resulting in best usage of 2.x only to drop back to 1.x. So please just release as is. Its been nearly 2 years already with visibly next to no activity at all.
