I'm not an OSGi expert, I just tried to make some libs OSGi compatible and played with it. I was not aware it is an extension, but I would expect that it is just ignored like any other unknown manifest attribute. But again, this issue is NOT fixed, so please reopen it. This issues asks for supporting the OSGi native service loader mechanism. My PR with that manifest entry is just a quick-fix work-around using the service loader mediator.
