Current cvs branch SLIDE_1_0 has a new parameter urlEncoding in slide.properties that allows you to force url encoding. Using this parameter, it's possible to work with special letters for a given client/plateform, but it won't work for all. I've seen discussions on this list on how to dynamicly detect the charset used by the client to encode urls, but nothing seems to have been done in this way yet.
