Hi! I also have some interest in this topic... In particular I would also like to examine extending the search to the contents of documents (objects), for certain kinds of documents (XML, text, HTML).
Initially I am using Oracle databases for the content and node-stores. Oracle 9i supports searching XML, and with the Media extensions even more general binary objects. The ugly thing about this is that you're going around 'behind' slide to do your searches, and of course you're tied to Oracle, which most customers cant or dont want to afford. The question is whether there is a general solution to this problem that slide does or could provide, perhaps XPath / XML Query based searching in the node stores? Has anyone thought about this kind of thing for slide? Richie -----Ursprngliche Nachricht----- Von: Bertrand Delacretaz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Gesendet: Mittwoch, 31. Hi Martin, > Do you want to define a new QueryLanguage, as Microsoft did? This was my first idea, implementing a very limited custom language (using a specific namespace as you mention), as we only need to query properties with simple AND and OR expressions. > My suggestion is to extend basicsearch within slide. . . >. . .Currently I'm doing similar things for XQL queries. Is that code part of Slide? I'd like to have a look if possible.. If you think extending basicsearch is not that hard I will have a look at it. We're just finishing our evaluation and will have to talk with the project staff for a decision, so it might take some time before we actually start working on this. I will keep this list posted if anything happens. Thanks very much for your quick reply. -Bertrand -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For additional commands, e-mail: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
