CVS source status?

Should I be able to checkout, setup build.properties so I 'ant detect'
works, run 'ant clean full.dist' and then run the server from dist/server?
I can't, when I do I get ClassNotFoundException on
org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector.   The class file is in
server/lib/tomcat-coyote.jar.  Am I alone in this problem?  I'd love to be
able to contribute and or help users; but if I can't even get the the
current build to run I don't know how I'll do that.
