i encourage everyone to sign up for an individual JCP membership. i was just looking at the JSR170 the other day through my new JCP membership. can ASF members get more info than an individual member?
I really don't know. I wouldn't think so, anyway, no. ASF members get access to the JCP automatically by receiving membership... it's like when you work for a company that is part of JCP, you get the ability to read the specs in community review.

The expert group was formed more than two years ago and now it's way too late to join. Remy Maucherat, Dirk Verbeeck and yours truly are part of the expert group. Stefan Guggisberg was made Slide committer to work on the JCRRI in the /proposal section and works for Day Software.
The JCR EG (expert group) expect to either have Slide become the reference implementation of JCR or incubate another project inside Apache for that. Personally, I would love to see efforts combined as all the people involved somehow in slide (including Software AG) are part of the JSR-170 effort.
I can ask the EG if a restricted number of people from this project can take a look at the community review for feedback. I don't if the spec lead can approuve this or if this needs more higher up things. I really don't know, but I will ask.
