I would not know why the store needs to know who stores content. What do you need it for?
One of the features of Slide on the web site since 1.0.16 is the following, " It can integrate and manage data stored within external repositories, requiring only small abstraction layers to be written for each repository." If I want to use Livelink, Lotus Notes, Documentum, FileNet, PcDocs, SAP, and the list goes on as an "external repository" THAT repository will undoubtedly want to know "who stores content". Are not the Stores this "abstraction layer" the web site still refers to?
I hope you are not telling me that I have to modify the slide servlet and modify all the interfaces just to achieve what seems a normal operation, that of access to the principal doing the action, what about meaningful logs, audit, external security?
I certainly understand and agree with the separation of concerns and not requiring the HttpRequest/Response as part of the interfaces, like Struts Actions and I like that Slide is more independent, but something like the principal actor should be accessible, don't you think?
You obviously control what the user can do on every request, so the information is there, but apparently not available to the Stores. Please tell me there is a way, any way, but easy way preferrably.
