Tried both, TC4 and TC5 bundle, and both are OK.
Also, functional testsuite run OK.

With the bundled version? Not for me, as there is no second store configured in the Domain.xml. But without the multistore tests they worked for me as well.

I did *not* try out the signatures/MD5.

I guess the users will eventually try them and yell at me which is OK for me.

OK, fixed this now!

Please, someone try it on your machine. Howto?

(1) Download a bundled version
(2) Unpack it
(3) run bin/startup.bat
(4) Connect to http://localhost:8080/slide
(5) As configured in Domain.xml admin login is "root" with password ""

I added this distribution to the others and also added md5 checksums to all files using

openssl md5 $i > $i.md5

Signing works like this:

gpg -a --detach-sign $i

of relative. This is very easy to fix, so I will do it

later this day. I

will remove the Tomcat bundles for now.

Folks!

There has been some confusion about which distributions

are included in

the 2.0 release, the license and what actually is the tag

our vote was

based on as certain things were deleted after tagging which really
should not go into the release. That's why I would like to

have a second

vote, this time on the distributions I have already

prepared. Sorry for

this extra work, but I want to be *extra-correct* with this first release.

I have created the following distributions for the 2.0 release:

1.) Full server source distribution (CVS export + delete

client part +

zip)
2.) Binary war/jar distribution (by ant target + zip)
3.) Tomcat 4 bundled binary distribution (by ant target + zip)
4.) Tomcat 5 bundled binary distribution (by ant target + zip)
5.) Full client source distribution (by ant target)
6.) Binary client distribution (by ant target)

I have signed them and uploaded them together with my KEYS

file into

http://cvs.apache.org/dist/jakarta/slide/2.0-beta1 (which

is hosted on

server cvs.apache.org in directory /www)

After a successful vote I will:

- CC the results of the vote to the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list
- Update the Jakarta Slide Website with uptodate docs
- Update the Jakarta Website to show the release
- Announce release at [EMAIL PROTECTED],

Slide dev and

user

I will start the vote in another thread. This will also

include a vote

to update the website with the cleaned up docs.

Oliver

P.S.: Anyone volunteering to contribute release package

targets for the

server part? The client ones turned out to be very useful,

actually :)

P.S.#2: My key has not been trusted by anyone. For the

final release we

will need a better solution. Maybe someone else signing it?
