I've checked the jakarta-slide-2.1b1-tomcat-5.0.19.tar.gz <http://cvs.apache.org/dist/jakarta/slide/2.1b1/bin/jakarta-slide-2.1b1-tomcat-5.0.19.tar.gz> bundle and it worked smoothly out of the box!
You can run the Projector admin application by requesting the following URL after startup:
http://localhost:8080/projector/listUsers.html
First request takes some time as Projector will start up...
