Understood. As I said my reservations are more philosophical than
technical. Thinking about it Maven might be a bit more declarative
while ant is procedural/functional? Or is this non-sense? Maybe I am
getting old and can not adapt to new technology any more, but having
everything in one file except stated otherwise is very convenient for
me.

I would certainly this use make if it was compatible on all platforms.
As it is not I was forced to move over to ant. What would force me to
use maven?
