I have implemented a rudimentary read only principal store that delegates principal information access to a simplified PrincipalStoreDAO. I say rudimentary because it makes some assumptions on user information structure that are specific to our needs, and might be limiting to others. I have also created an implementation of the principal store that can load the DAO from a Spring application context (I also have a servlet context listener that can expose the Spring application context for the web application to the principal store). Further, I have created a servlet filter that integrates Acegi authentication with Slide's WebDAV servlet. I must admit that the cart got before the horse: these classes started out as a prototype proof of concept, and so I do not yet have unit tests.
I'm willing to donate these classes back to the Slide project if they are considered useful.
whether or not the slide project accepts them, i'd certainly find them useful, and in the short term. i need to add approximately the same functionality to my project in the next couple of weeks.
