Question on LOCK behaviour

Try to lock an unexisting resource, say "temp_res_a.html":

webdavResource.lockMethod(rootPath + "temp_res_a.html");

and got properties for this URI in the table PROPERTY, a row in LOCKS, and
OBJECTS on the unexisting resource.

Is it a desired behaviour?
