Put problems with nightly releases

This may be something in my setup, but when I switch to a nightly 
release from 1.0.10 the put method doesn't work quite right.  My files 
get corrupted and always end up a few K bigger.  Haven't tracked it down 
to the slide server or client code yet, but I thought I'd at least let 
the list know.
