Sorry to harp on about this but where does slide.war fit into the picture?
I placed slide.war in d:/jakarta-slide-1.0.11/server/webapps as advised
several times
in the doco. But as far as I can tell, it is not being used.

The WebDAV servlet if on 8081.

On 8080 is the web application which runs off the Slide namespace. Since
there is no web.xml nor anything else in the webapp, the Catalina default
servlet is used, and displays a blank directpry browsing page.

8080/slide is indeed not webdav enabled (this is normal).
