I have not used it in the configuration you outline but as long as you
have naming.jar, jndi.jar jdbc.jar and your driver in the common/lib
directory then it should be fine. The issue is if the naming and jndi
classes are loaded from a different context than the one Tomcat is using
then it will not work.
Are you seeing any errors?
