Hi,
Just wondering, but did you also modify your
tomcat-users.xml when you installed Slide? I found
that by following the Quick Start guide
(http://faq.globalvision.com.au/fom-serve/cache/88.html)
I was able to upload and download files using the
command-line utility with no problems. As Dirk
pointed out, you'll want to do your
uploading/downloading under
"http://localhost:8080/slide/files/" instead of
"http://localhost:8080/". Also, you'll probably want
to use (at least initially) Slide user "root" (default
password "root") in order to get around any
authentication issues.

P.S. You'll find an archive of Slide postings at
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=slide-user&r=1&w=2.
