To answer my own question: if you are using slide built into tomcat you simply have to
enable https within tomcat. Then to just use 'https' in your webdav urls and the
encryption appears to be taken care of by tomcat transparently. I imagine that if you
install slide into another webserver you simply configure the webserver to use https
encryption the url of your webdav folder and the encryption will be transpartent to
the slide servlet. Am I correct?
I do think that this should be mentioned this in the documentation somewhere because
it is important that people secure their data if they are not going to get burnt and
then blame your technology for their newbie mistakes.

I too would like to know how to use HTTPs with Slide. Currently I am using it embeded
in Tomcat4.0.2 standalone. Could someone point me at a url that explains how to do
this? If I have to build slide from source to get it done then that is something that
I would have a go at if someone could give me an basic outline of the proceedure.
thanks

How is an HTTPS connection to a DAV server established using the
WebDavSession class? The org.apache.util.HttpURL class used in the
WebDavSession constructor appears to support only HTTP URLs.
