Okay, when you're using the tomcat-integrated Slide server, you don't need to change anything in tomcat-users.xml. Part of the integration is that user credentials are checked directly against the "user-database" in Slide (e.g. /users/root represents a concrete user). However, 'root' is the actual username in this case, so instead of logging in as radmin:radmin, try with root:radmin.
