Hi Michiel, I've just started using Slide as well, I noticed the FAQ was down but have been able to find most of the answers to my questions in the mail archives. What seems to be giving you problems?
If you've started the server that is distributed with the binary distribution and it is running you should be able to use the client to test. If you are getting some errors starting the server you might want to post them here, I'm sure that someone will have an answer. I had some difficulties at first with the server because I had another Tomcat instance installed on my machine, there was a port conflict. You can start the server by running $SLIDE_HOME/server/bin/startup.(bat or sh), I think it may require the JAVA_HOME environment variable set.
