Hi Janos, > We also need in the future simple document versioning at > minimum with lock.
RFC3253 specifies how auto-versioning works together with locking (sections 2.2.2 and 3.2.2). This is something clients which support locking but are not versioning-aware can make use of, e.g. the Microsoft Office 2000 tools. When you use e.g. Word 2000, a doc is implicitly locked on open and unlocked on close. If the doc resides on a RFC3253 server and auto-versioning is configured accordingly, the doc is automaically checked-out on a lock request and checked-in on unlock, i.e. Word would create a new version whenever the doc is closed. Is that more or less what your are requiring? > I am a little confused of we should use 'pure' WebDAV, or Slide with > Delta-V. > Is RFC3253 implemetion given in Slide, or in WebDAV or what is the > actual status? All but the "advanced features" of RFC3253 is implemented in the WebDAV layer of Slide. The Slide kernel supports versioning for long time. Although Slide versioning and DeltaV were not 100% compatible, the RFC3253 implementation in Slide made maximum use of the existing Slide versioning machine.
