I'm sure that you can, just not sure how.. You may want to just follow the source code from SlideRealm to see all the surrounding logic on how the check is made.. I did it a while back to learn how to move SlideRealm to JBoss, but didn't dig deep enough yet to answer your question. Maybe someone else can? Also, check the mailing list archives at www.mailarchive.com - I'm sure someone has answered that question in the past.
