Oh... I have asked this before... and this is the answer I got...

Slide 1.0.16 is the latest release.

Slide 2.0 is under active development, however there is nobody who is going
to make a release. Most of the contributors are satisfied with using nightly
builds. These nightly builds are 'quite' stable and if you use them you will
probablely get more support than if you used Slide 1.0.16 (which is 2 years
old).
