by fairly well, i mean they speak the same language, but with heavy 
accents.  some stuff doesn't work ( i can't remember off-hand, hence 
the vagueness), but a little hacking should take care of it.

in short, if you want to use slide with svn, be prepared to make 
modifications/additions to slide.
