Have just downloaded jakarta-slide-2.0-tomcat-5.0.19.tar.gz, had a look at the concerned sections and authentication actually is uncommented and thus switched on. Do not know what your are referring to...

Hello

The slide security documentation states:

"By default, authentication is enabled in Slide.

To disable authentication, open the webapp deployment descriptor, i.e.
WEB-INF/web.xml in the webapp directory, and uncomment the two elements
given by the xpath expressions /web-app/security-constraint and
/web-app/login-config"

But within the web.xml file it states the above references section of XML
has a comment that states:

"<!-- Uncomment this to get authentication -->"

Obviously to enable authentication one must uncomment out the referenced
section within the WEB-INF/web.xml file.

That would mean by default authentication is disabled in Slide.

Is the documentation incorrect, or am I missing something?

I have downloaded and am using jakarta-slide-server-2.0.

Thanks
