I still believe that there is a magical registry setting or HTTP header that
can be changed or added to get around this issue. Especially since I've
read elsewhere that the Save button is not disabled when opening Word or
Excel from a Sharepoint server (I believe Sharepoint uses WebDAV protocol -
but I'm not certain)
I've worked for a while with Sharepoint and I'm sure - you can simply
open the file from webpage, and then after editing it save it directly
to webfolder back. The only problem is how Microsoft did this opening
the file from webpage? The default option opens the file in read-only
mode, but you can also pick an option from some kind of context menu in
order to open it in new Word or Excel document.
