Hello Mike,

please go to the
jakarta-slide/proposals/tamino/build/tree/tomcat/native/bin directory
and check if the sagssxauthd2 demon runs under root and does have the
following rights -rwSr-Sr--.

Please contact your local Software AG contact for the latest SSX fixes,
because of a known problems with the TWS group support under Unix.

Which Tamino version do you use?

One additional hint. In case you like to do the inodavconfig install
security with a different administrator as before, the URM metadata have
to be deleted, which are found under the databaseUri passed during the
first inodavconfig install security. This can be done with the Tamino
X-Plorer.

kind regards,
Eckehard

Subject: slide / taminowebdavserver and URM (authentication, etc.)

Hi all,

I've been running slide 2.0 for a while now, using the tamino stores
from the TWS421_BRANCH. Now I need authentication added...

So, I tried to install security (following the documentation, and using
the 'inodavconfig install security' script).

I installed 'OS' security doing this (on a linux/x86 host), and
encountered some problems... I've increased the logging level
(nativeLogLevel in urm_config.xml) to 6 (the highest), and the log tells

me (when I try to log in):

2004-08-16 02:31:17 (0004e027) StartCheckUser: User password
authentication for "msmith" returned: -16
2004-08-16 02:31:17 (0004e027) StartCheckUser: LogonUser ... failed
password invalid (-16)!
2004-08-16 02:31:17 (0004e027)
logs/webdavrealmnativeuserdb.logAuthUser_A: login of user 'msmith'
(domain:SpeedLegal) failed. (SSX Error: User login failed)

It does this for any username/password I've tried. The 'suspicious' bit
here in the domain: for OS authentication on this system, there
shouldn't be any domain. However, the scripts said this was a mandatory
parameter, and wouldn't let me skip it. Making it empty, or commenting
out the entire thing in urm_config.xml didn't help.

What am I doing wrong? Is there any way I can get more information out
of this to find out where the error is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike
