There is a property called "checked-out" on the target that you can fetch. I
think it contains the revision number if the target is currently checked out
and is either empty or not there at all if its not checked out. And if its
not checked out (ie its checked in) then then the "checked-in" property will
be set to the latest checked-in version instead.
