Best bet it to turn up all the logging available to slide while its running and try to trace your problem to an exact class in slide. Then look at the source of that class and try to find where thing goes wrong. I have added a lot of my own debug logging into the slide source just to get a view of what and where things are happening. For your case it would a good start to study or add debug logging statements to the authentication classes.

I am trying to integrate slide into Liferay Portal using the JAAS plugin. This can only help to raise the profile of the slide project.
