You are unable to add http://localhost:8080/slide as a network place
because that url points to a servlet, not a folder. Try adding network
address http://computerdoc.hopto.org:8080/slide/files instead.

I have installed TomCat with Slide bundled in. Tomcat is 5.0.28 and
Slide
is 2.x. They are installed on a server running Windows Server 2003
which is
also running IIS 6.0 for my business web site.
I am wanting to offer backup services over the Internet to small
business in
my area and was told by one of the web devs in my "real" job that
Tomcat and
Slide would provide a secure connection.
I have installed both apps by following the documentation provided and
taking the default settings and can connect to the Slide by using
http://localhost:8080/slide without any issues. I have also used the
explorer application for adding new users. I can not connect using
the My
Network Places. Trying to connect to
http://computerdoc.hopto.org:8080/slide, I get an error that says The
folder
you entered does not appear to be valid. I have opened up the port on my
firewall, both as a TCP and a UCP connection.
I am not a java developer nor am I very familiar with java apps so any
and
all help would be great. I know the docs mention something called
JAXP but
I'm not certain if I need it and where to configure it.
Also if there is something like Slide for Dummies out there that would be
great.
Thanks ahead of time,
