Ja, das geht. Boom und Radio haben nur für ihre internen Lautsprecher Verstärker eingebaut, alle anderen Squeezeboxen(Transporter,Touch,Receiver,Classic,...) benötigen Aktivboxen/Boxen+Verstärker.
