I probably haven't understood all the above details, but I also have "garbling" playing most radio stations including Classic FM and iPlayer Radio 4, though Radio 3 HD seems OK. Only on iPeng, my Squeezebox & SBT seem OK. My LMS server is 7.7.2 on QNAP TS109. I sent an email to Coolio. Haven't looked at the workaround yet but will do so now.
