Zu Deiner Konfig kann ich nichts sagen, aber der mir bekannte Hauptunterschied ist, daß ab LMS 7.8 auch diverse HD Audio Formate (24bit 192kHz) nativ unterstützt werden. Das benutze ich und es funktioniert stressfrei.
