On the other hand, I keep thinking of whether we should change our
community roles specification to separate committer and PMC roles. This
way we could more easily vote in committers and would not have to care
about whether those committers committed enough to also gain PMC status.
That's what we did at Felix as well. We did gain some committers this
way. Not sure whether it would make a big difference but I'd be up for
giving it a shot.
Yepp, I think we should try this - although I don't think that this
solves the diversity problem; It doesn't make a difference: if you have
lets say 10 committers from company A and 2 from other companies, it's
the same thing if there are all 10 in the PMC or just 4 from company A.
