Hi to all, I've been using slony from some time untill now I used only the altperl scripts. Because I had some problems with a double replications I decided to make a slony upgrade and use the new scripts. Everything goes well, the replications are working, bu there are a few things that for me are strange: 1. every time I run launch_clusters.sh I get Slon already running - but PID marked dead Slon already running - but PID marked dead
A looked in the script and sometimes the pid files are there sometimes not... 2. I have a replication like this: Server 1 -> db1 - MASTER Server 2 -> db2 - SLAVE 2 Servers and db1 is replicated in db2. I find it strange that if I start the launch_clusters.sh for both nodes on the master the replication works without running any slony process on the slave.... shouldn't the node 2 process run on the slave server ??? ... or I just misconfigured something. (strange is then that it does replicate) PS: execute_script -> is still the old one (altperl)??? Waiting some suggestions, Regards, Andy.
