No. Jackie was not there, but I was given the impression
that our deal was with hardwarezone (and certainly Jackie
was notified of our meeting) and not with my contact,
Edward Choh, who was in hardwarezone. It seems that
Edward went on to deal with us without proper authorization
from the inner top council of Hardwarezone or the inner
council was undecided/divided on whether they should give
Singapore Linux Portal that level of support.
In any case, Edward resigned, and he seemed unhappy. He
called me up and was rather apologetic and embarassed. I
did not probe too much, as I did not know the political forces
that were involved. Anyway, he promised to tell me in details
when we meet again for tea, but of course, when we meet
again, he no longer represents hardwarezone and we will only
meet as friends (like always).
ps : guys, see what I mean when you involve politics into
websites? It is best to treat SLP like a free market where
there are no barriers of entry and no restrictions whatsoever.
That will hopefully make sure everyone gets what they want,
and SLP gets to benefit as a result.
