Went to the Sony shop on the weekend. PSX-2 will be released in Japan in March, and in the US in the first week of December (gee, I wonder why). Australian release will be between those two dates, but actual time keeps shifting. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get it mid-year? In Bad News: Sony Entertainment are having a big argument with Sony Europe regardind PSX-2 DVD playback. PSX is made by a different company to the HiFi / DVD company who don't want the PSX-2 to have DVD playback capability. Apparently the DVD co. is threatening to add PSX-2 games capability to thier DVD players :) Also the Sony trained salesman are claiming that the HiFi DVD players have better movie playback as the PSX-2 "is a bit dodgy". ROFL: The PSX-2 has MANY times the image processing capacity of ANY DVD player available now. DVDs will ROCK on the PSX-2. My Guess: They'll cripple the audio somehow. If we're lucky it'll have stereo out + DTS digital out for decoding by offboard DTS decoder, if unlucky only the stereo out (which would suck).
