I found the same problem with netscape at uni (runnin on solaris)
The problem was that the particular version of netscape had a bug in it
apparently..(4.51 for those who wanna know)
The other thing about it was that it didn't start happening until you had
about 5 or 6 people in your address book. dunno if it's the same for you.
I started using 4.61 that they had recently installed and it works fine..
so yeah.. check your version and update it if necessary..
