[SLUG] glibc 2.1.2 PM?

What are the preventative measures to take when contemplating a
build/install of glibc 2.1.2?

Apart from...don't!

I'd like to run some recent Java apps which require jdk 1.2.2 which, in
turn, require  glibc 2.1.2.....
