The long awaited release of the Opera web browser has arrived

mediocre
The inability to display png images is a majaor draw back for a new
browser, many sites are moving to png and the inability to do SSL
is a draw back also.
Some of the preferences look great, with ability to customize the
look of the application, linux needs some color :)

On this system, running a modified Redhat 6.1 I found Opera locked up
alot with errors like
MainWindow::addCurrentHere()
QGList::locate: Index 0 out of range
QGList::locate: Index 0 out of range
QGList::locate: Index 0 out of range

I hope to see some improvement in future releases of this browser that
is small and compact, the windows version was a great tool
I giive the new browser 2 out of 5 penguins and maybe another 0.5
for Operas initiative
Below is an extract from the web page of what it can and cannot do

http://www.opera.com/linux

Kind regards
Kevin
