We have quite a number of multi-national businesses who have perm
connections to us. I noticed, perhaps with just a little dissappointment,
that *all* of them were disconnected prior to the rollover.
More interestingly, we had a gradual decline in on-line users across the
board commencing 12 hours prior to midnight local time, down to a mere 20%
of our usual connections 30 minutes prior, then a *sharp* drop off to
about 5% of our usual connections right at midnight, bounced back over the
following half hour, and slowly picked up from there.
Looks like a *lot* of people were "playing it safe".
Interestingly, little or no evidence of people being concerned at the
00:00 UTC rollover. Perhaps it's all tied up with the general ignorance
thing? What was that quote about the nett intelligence of the world
remaining a constant, while the population increases?
