I have such a motherboard with 2 celeron's at 366MHz. A standard RH6.1 install works just fine in SMP mode... It just took me quite a while to work out 2 other problems: 1) My S3 Trio64V+ (week 37, 1997) video card with 'Eagles' bios wouldn't work properly under X. Locked system solid, no keyboard response, no switch to console, no CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE. A similar card about a year more recent works just fine, and I was able to salvage the 1Mb 40ns additional RAM from the old card. Note: the old card and RAM worked just fine on my AMD 5x86 133MHz machine with RH5.2 and also RH6.0 2) My bids2login Bigpond cable login client binary that was running under RH 5.2 and RH 6.0 on an AMD single CPU system ran away and brought the system down due to lack of memory (128Mb installed). I cured that by switching to bpalogin and compiling from source (and fixed all the command line/config file processing that gave me the shits). I emailed it to one of the developers but haven't heard anything back - if anyone wants it let me know. ---<GRiP>--- Grant Parnell [EMAIL PROTECTED] ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Ph: 02-9715-6171 Mobile 0408-686-201 Web: http://www.poboxes.com/gripz -- SLUG - Sydney Linux Users Group Mailing List - http://www.slug.org.au To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in the text
