You might want to try the de4x5 module. Some docs I read while trying
to get a tulip card working suggested the de4x5 instead, as it has
updated drivers in it. Or search for the tulip.c drivers from google,
and find the Tulip drivers page. It seems that the latest kernel is
using version 0.89 from 1998 and the latest tulip driver is 0.91, dated
late last year. I dont have the url bookmarked though.
