I have been using Windows 2000 as a workstation on my new Celeron 400 and it
is noticable slower than NT4 was on my old Cyrix 266. I am using the server
product in both cases.
I have been using windows for workstations and linux for servers for some
time and I getting more and more dissapointed with windows performance with
each release, although they are feature packed. I am now starting to
consider replacing windows workstations with linux although I admit I have a
fair way to go in terms of my knowledge of how to set up linux workstations
before I can completely replace windows.
I have been using redhat for servers which has been excellent. Does anyone
have any recommendations for the best distribution to use for workstations?
